Gibsonton

Gibsonton is located along Hillsborough Bay and is world famous as a sideshow wintering town.  Many carnival and circus professionals have originated and still live in the area and during the winter months, you can see many carnival and circus attractions for sale alongside of the road.  It was home to many famous acts including Percilla the Monkey Girl, The Anatomical Wonder and the Lobster Boy and once had a post office that had a counter for little people.  Zoning laws allowed for residents to keep elephants and circus trailers on their front lawns.

 

It is about 15 minutes outside of downtown Tampa and offers easy access to Interstate 75 and has a population of 12,839.
